What does it mean?
Great question. In fact, that’s what we are shooting for. We WANT an opportunity to share who we are and why we are a church.
In many ways, church has become too diluted, too complicated, and too busy. If that’s you, I’m not casting shade. You do you. I’m happy for you and I’ll cheer you on.
We just want something different. We aren’t inventing or reinventing anything. We are trying to get back to our roots.
We long for simplicity. We want to do less, and be more. So here’s what M3 means.
It’s a discipleship equation.
As a church, we exist to fulfill the great commandment and the great commission. Love God, love people, make disciples.
A Disciple is follower of Jesus who is becoming like him in every area of life.
The Discipleship Equation-
D=M3.
A disciple does three things. As a church, we will do three things.
- MEET with Jesus.
- MEET with followers of Jesus
- Help others MEET Jesus.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Daily spend time with Jesus in prayer and the scripture
- Regularly meet with other believers. For us, that’s a weekly worship gathering, a CPR group, and a D- group.
- Daily look for others who don’t know Jesus and introduce them to him.
That’s it. The kind of church most of us have always wanted.
